Realignment of global purchasing

"Together with its strategic suppliers, Vaillant Group aims to further expand its leadership in the heating market in technology and quality." This is how Pascal Janot, Director of Purchasing and Research and Development, described the Group's goals to more than 70 managers of its some 40 leading suppliers at the opening of the Vaillant Group Supplier Day in Remscheid.

Early inclusion of suppliers in the development process is to ensure systematic fulfilment of the demanding targets in terms of quality, deadlines and costs. In future, Vaillant Group will favour integrated solutions. This means components being pre-assembled into modules which on the one hand generate the benefits of standards and on the other provide decisive opportunities for diversification of the Vaillant Group appliance brands. "Our suppliers will be actively integrated in the network of new purchasing and are important partners in our optimisation of strategic task areas such as quality management, supply chain management, supplier development, e-business, joint development and costs management," Pasal Janot added. In the case of global purchasing and in particular the security of supply, it was important that the suppliers not only achieved progress in costs, quality and logistics, but also in flow management and their finan-cial strength.
